Marble crafting from Agra is an intricate craft. The marble rock is sourced from Nagaur(Rajasthan) cut from larger stone and then is delicately carved. This method of Brass inlay in Marble is called the technique of Damascene, named after the city of Damascus, involved the metal being inlayed by hammering in strips of gold and silver, the brass ewers had predetermined patterns that were decorated. Centuries of trade brought this practice to our Rajasthan and Agra regions and are now practiced by our artisans.
